Location: Route Description: From the Netherlands you
may fly KLM to Bucharest (daily flights from Amsterdam). A cheaper
company is Blue Air connecting Maastricht airport to Bucharest-Baneasa
airport. If you plan to come by
car, a good free route planner on the Internet is WWW.MAP24.COM By car from Bucharest - 130 Km (or from the
airport 110 Km) (see
the map HERE): Coming from Bucharest you
follow DN1 (E60) for about 60 Km to Ploiesti (If you come from the
airport, then you have to follow directly Ploiesti, opposite direction
than to Bucharest) From Ploiesti you must
then follow the direction Brasov. After about 60 Km you
will pass through Sinaia. 8-9 Km after Sinaia you will see on the right side of the road the Km stone (these stones – white with red on the top – are placed along the road at every 1 Km intervals) showing "Km130 – 38 Km Brasov" (meaning you are at 130 Km from Bucharest and at 38 Km from Brasov) Take the first street
right (100m) after that stone. You are almost there. Follow this street going under the train bridge 50m, then follow it to the right for about 100m, then follow it to the left and cross the river (small bridge). As you drive on the bridge you will see the villa right in front of you at the right side of the street - you will recognize it from the photo. Go uphill for about 50m. The villa gate is now on your right hand side and you can ring the bell. (During winter snow-chains are highly recommended) By Car from Brasov - 35 Km (see
the map HERE): You follow DN1 (E60)
Ploiesti - Bucuresti on the signs. After about 38 km (from Brasov) you
exit Busteni. As you exit Busteni following DN1 you cross an industrial
train track. After this the road DN1 will go in a curve to the right.
Immediately after this curve take the first street left and leave DN1
(about 100 m crossing the train rails). You are almost there. Follow
this street going under the train bridge 50m, then follow it to the
right for about 100m, then follow it to the left and cross the river
(small bridge). As you drive on the bridge you will see the villa right
in front of you at the right side of the street - you will recognize it
from the photo. Go uphill for about 50m. The villa gate is now on your
right hand side and you can ring the bell. (During winter snow-chains
are highly recommended) By Train: Take the train to Busteni
(all international trains make a stop in Busteni). In the (small) train
station Busteni take a taxi (right in front there are always a few) and
give the driver the exact address (see below). You will be there in
about 5-10 minutes. You will have to pay no more than 5 euros (just pay
what is marked on the taxi recorder). Only use official taxis (mostly
in yellow), and ignore unsolicited offers. Of course, you can also
walk (about 15 minutes) from the train station to the villa! Other Info: When you are expected as
a guest, there will always be someone there expecting you, giving you a
short tour and the keys, and furthermore if you wish, staying at your
service during your stay. Please let us know the expected time of your
arrival. You can also call us and be picked-up from the train station. The area has good
coverage for all mobile phones (including Dutch). The alarm number is
112 (the same as in the rest of the Europe)
