Location:
The villa is located in a peaceful residential area near some other villas, each with large gardens. A small street passes right in front of the gates of the villa with very little traffic. 6-8 cars can be parked securely inside our (locked) gates, near the garden. The garden has grass and some very old and tall trees, offering plenty of space (400m2) for children to play. You can choose to sunbath during the summer in the garden on the grass, or on the terrace near the kitchen, or on the terrace at the first floor. You may also enjoy barbeque in a roof-covered terrace.
The forest is within 200 meters with many walking paths.
50 meters away the Prahova river passes by and you can cross it on a bridge.
A new Christian orthodox monastery lies within 500m walk in the forest and it is nice to visit.
From most windows you have a beautiful view to the Caraiman peak of Karpaten (about 2200m high) with its cross on top which is alight during the night.

Interior:
The villa has a luxury style, with marble floor in the party area and wooden floors in the rooms and upper floors. It has 3 floors, 9 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms with bathtubs. Each bedroom has a double queen-size bed and cable TV.
In more detail: 4 bedrooms have their own private bathrooms. 4 bedrooms are grouped in 2 small “apartments” each of them sharing one bathroom. 1 bedroom has the bathroom across the corridor. One service toilet is located on the ground-floor.
Most rooms have a beautiful view towards the mountains. Ground floor: party hall/eating/dance, TV+DVD, complete kitchen with dishwasher and combo grill/oven/microwave. On the third floor in the hobby area there is a pool table and a tennis table, bar, TV and fridge. All bedrooms have cable TV and large double beds. New: Starting with 2005 a brand new JACUZZI (bubble-) bath (3-person) and a SAUNA (6-person) were installed in the basement!
We offer very high quality accommodation and local guidance at best prices to the group on the whole duration of the stay. One person will always be available 24h to attend to the group if needed.

Surroundings:
The Prahova Valley is a wide, deep cleft carved by the Prahova River into the granite of the southern Carpathians. It is a corridor between Transylvania and Walachia, an ancient route that is traversed today by the railway and a major road. Its breathtaking scenery and pervading sense of history make it a major tourist attraction.
In Busteni you can either hike on the many walking paths, or you can comfortably take a cable-cabin up to the peaks (>2000m) where you can admire the Sfinx and Babele natural stones formations, enjoy the landscape, and hike (2-3 hours downhill hike will get you back in Busteni during summertime)
Busteni is located in between Sinaia and Predeal. You can reach them with a short ride - less than 10 km – by car or by taxi (price range: 4-5 euros), or by public transportation like busses or small vans (price range: 1 euro) passing nearby every 10-15 min.
In Sinaia you can visit, among others, the king’s castle (Peles) and the ancient Sinaia monastery.

Route Description:

From the Netherlands you may fly KLM to Bucharest (daily flights from Amsterdam). A cheaper company is Blue Air connecting Maastricht airport to Bucharest-Baneasa airport.

If you plan to come by car, a good free route planner on the Internet is WWW.MAP24.COM

By car from Bucharest - 130 Km (or from the airport 110 Km) (see the map HERE):

Coming from Bucharest you follow DN1 (E60) for about 60 Km to Ploiesti

(If you come from the airport, then you have to follow directly Ploiesti, opposite direction than to Bucharest)

From Ploiesti you must then follow the direction Brasov.

After about 60 Km you will pass through Sinaia.

8-9 Km after Sinaia you will see on the right side of the road the Km stone (these stones – white with red on the top – are placed along the road at every 1 Km intervals) showing "Km130 – 38 Km Brasov" (meaning you are at 130 Km from Bucharest and at 38 Km from Brasov)

Take the first street right (100m) after that stone. You are almost there.

Follow this street going under the train bridge 50m, then follow it to the right for about 100m, then follow it to the left and cross the river (small bridge). As you drive on the bridge you will see the villa right in front of you at the right side of the street - you will recognize it from the photo. Go uphill for about 50m. The villa gate is now on your right hand side and you can ring the bell. (During winter snow-chains are highly recommended)

By Car from Brasov - 35 Km (see the map HERE):

You follow DN1 (E60) Ploiesti - Bucuresti on the signs. After about 38 km (from Brasov) you exit Busteni. As you exit Busteni following DN1 you cross an industrial train track. After this the road DN1 will go in a curve to the right. Immediately after this curve take the first street left and leave DN1 (about 100 m crossing the train rails).

By Train:

Take the train to Busteni (all international trains make a stop in Busteni). In the (small) train station Busteni take a taxi (right in front there are always a few) and give the driver the exact address (see below). You will be there in about 5-10 minutes. You will have to pay no more than 5 euros (just pay what is marked on the taxi recorder). Only use official taxis (mostly in yellow), and ignore unsolicited offers.

Of course, you can also walk (about 15 minutes) from the train station to the villa!

Other Info:

When you are expected as a guest, there will always be someone there expecting you, giving you a short tour and the keys, and furthermore if you wish, staying at your service during your stay. Please let us know the expected time of your arrival. You can also call us and be picked-up from the train station.

The area has good coverage for all mobile phones (including Dutch). The alarm number is 112 (the same as in the rest of the Europe)
